Volunteer Opportunities

Gifts of Serving - Within our own church there are opportunities to assist with worship and fellowship activities. Check to see where your gifts of time and talents are best used. Check with Pastor or the Office.

Vincent Place Hot Meal Program - Approximately every 6 weeks Zion makes and serves a hot meat loaf dinner for the poor at St. Vincent Place on Albert Street. Hours are from 2 pm until approximately 6 pm. They also volunteer to assist with the Christmas Dinner which is served in two settings before Christmas. Respond to God's call to feed the poor.

Christmas Cheer Depot - Zion is a Christmas Cheer Depot. Volunteers pass out the boxes of Christmas Cheer to the various families in need. Some are picked up and some are delivered by our volunteers.

Apple Pie Fundraiser - This is organized in October. There are many jobs ... something for everyone (from peeling apples, making pie dough, rolling out pie dough, filling with apples, and preparing for the freezer. If you have an apple peeler or a rolling pin, we can use you!

Mitten Tree - This is an Advent activity in support of Christmas Cheer. You can knit (or purchase) mittens, hats, neck warmers, etc. to place on the Mitten Tree in the Narthex. These are donated before Christmas to Christmas Cheer for filling in boxes for families.

Making Finnish Coffee Bread (Pulla) - Several times a year, some women make this sweet bread to sell at a bake sale. This may be just what you want to learn to do! Check with the office to see when they'll be baking next.

Garage/Yard Sale - Approximately once a year, we hold a yard/garage sale. Perhaps this is where your gifts come in. Look for the dates by checking with the office.

Colossians 3: 23,24

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man ... It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
