Pastor Profile - The Rev. Brad Mittleholtz

Pastor Brad was born in Kitchener Ontario and attended the University of Waterloo for Urban and Regional Planning. He then completed his Master of Divinity at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary (Wilfrid Laurier University). Married to Tracy, they are blessed with two sons (Noah and Ethan).

A life- long Lutheran, he appreciates what that tradition has to offer. He is also very proud to be part of a tradition that reaches out to work ecumenically and across faiths. Thinking about who might be an appropriate partner for various avenues of ministry is something he often thinks about.

For five years, Pastor Brad served as an Anglican priest along with being a Lutheran Pastor. It was a great time to test out what being ecumenical really is. He loves learning different traditions and finding common grounds.

Since high school when he attended the national church's Global Hunger and Economic Justice Seminars, Pastor Brad has had a passion for justice and development work in church and society. He tries to keep informed about issues locally and globally, working with people in various ways to bring relief and compassion to our neighbours.

Pastor Brad was fortunate to represent our church as a youth steward at a World Council of Churches Assembly in Zimbabwe and also at a Lutheran World Federation Youth Consultation in Malaysia.

Most recently, Pastor Brad has been learning the Finnish language in order to support our Finnish members. He enjoys the fellowship of potlucks, family game nights, and having children take an active role when celebrating our contemporary worship services.

Micah 6:8

He has showed you, O Man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
