The following are samples of some organized field trips within the vicinity of Sault Ste. Marie and some presentations that provide education and awareness to our congregation:

 

Field Trip to Brookfield Renewable Power (Windmill Farm) - renewable energy

Field Trip to Sault Ste. Marie Regional Conservation Authority with a visit to the Fort Creek Hub trail area - flood mitigation

Field Trip to Ontario Forest Research Institute - Forest Research and Development Section - ecological sustainability

Field Trip to Boniferro Mill (producer of maple flooring and assorted products) - exercising total utilization

Field Trip to Flakeboard Plant (utilizes all sawdust in making fibreboard/plywood) - waste not

Field Trip to PUC Water Treatment Plant - safe drinking water

Field Trip to Gilbertson's Maple Syrup Pancake House and tour - use of forest product

Presentation by Engineering and Planning Department, City of Sault Ste. Marie - waste control Presentation by "The Algoma Beekeeper" Doug Fairburn - bees making a difference in the environment
